Some people come to Beltane for the ability to meet with Pagans from throughout Louisiana and the Gulf Coast. Some come to run through our meadows in the most spiritually ecstatic version of "Tag, You're It" ever. And some come because, with the onslaught of day-to-day work and minutia, they don't get a lot of time to focus on their personal craft, ritual, and education. Our workshops and classes this year are designed to engage you in all of your magickal glory. Our keynote presenter, Dorothy Morrison, will make sure you don't leave The Nest until you're ready to use your personal power to knock out your enemies, gain the money you need, and reforge your old methods of magick into the tools designed to get what you want!
I met Dorothy Morrison for the first time almost 10 years ago, at The Celebrate the Goddess Rising Conference in Metairie, hosted by the now- closed Covenant of the Pentacle Wiccan Church - ATC. I was immediately struck by her no-nonsense approach to The Craft, as was every other attendee. It's often difficult to find Witchcraft authors as celebrated as her in the Deep South, but luckily, her love for New Orleans would draw her down to the city a few more times over the years as she made appearances at other conferences throughout the city. Our paths would continually meet, and fortunately for us, she ultimately decided to relocate to the Northshore a few years ago!
A practicing Witch for over 40 years, Dorothy Morrison is the award-winning author of numerous books on Witchcraft and its practical application to everyday living, including Everyday Magic, Utterly Wicked, and The Craft: A Witch's Book of Shadows. She created the Wicked Witch Mojo and Hexology product lines, and is the proprietress of Wicked Witch Studios - an online store specializing in handcrafted items designed for Witches of discriminating taste. She will not only teach at Beltane this year, but will be vending items from her line of candles, oils, potion bottles, and other magickal necessities, along with signed copies of her books!
