Greetings from New Orleans! The sun is shining, the flowers are blooming, and while I'm torn between gardening and much-needed rest, my heart is already racing for what’s just around the corner — our 13th Annual Wyld Fire Beltane Hunt. Can you believe it's less than ONE MONTH AWAY?
If you’ve been thinking about joining us for this one-of-a-kind 3-day camping event at our new location, The All You Need Institute, let me give you a taste of what awaits. This isn’t just a festival. It’s a living ritual, a myth come alive, and it’s something you truly have to experience to believe.
What Is the Hunt?
Every year, we gather in community to celebrate the ancient turning of the Wheel — Beltane. But our Hunt? It's not just rooted in Celtic tradition. It's a fusion of Spring festivals from around the world — Beltane, Floralia, Walpurgisnacht, and deep Southern folklore — woven together into a game of transformation, magic, and primal joy.
Inspired by the Roman festival Floralia, where revelers would chase and play in honor of the Goddess Flora, our Beltane Hunt is an immersive game of sacred tag — predator and prey, hunter and holy, Oak King and May Queen. Add in the trickster Seelie Court and a wild tribe of drummers, and you’ve got a ritual that’s as playful as it is profound.
Will You Be a Holy?
To walk the path of the holy is to embody the wild power of the Earth Goddess — soft, strong, mysterious, healing. Holies carry the energy of life about to bloom, and one among them will be crowned the May Queen, the vessel of creation itself.
If you feel the Creatrix stirring inside you… this path is calling your name.
Or Are You Meant to Be a Hunter?
Hunters roam the shadowed trails, guided by instinct and cleverness, seeking the May Queen among the holies. Every time a hunter catches a holy, they must answer a riddle — get it wrong, and you’re at the mercy of the Seelie Court. But answer right… and you may just awaken the Oak King within you.
Do you have what it takes to bring fire back to the forest?
Maybe You’re a Trickster — A Member of the Seelie Court?
The Seelie are merry mischief-makers from the old tales — fae spirits who both hinder and help. If a hunter fails their riddle, the Seelie swoop in with delightful chaos: skits, Barbie dolls, hair-braiding contests — anything to keep the energy high and the rules playful.
(Warning: Seelie antics are wildly contagious. You may end up one of them.)
Or Perhaps You Drum?
Not everyone wants to run — and we love that. The drummers hold the heartbeat of The Hunt, sending vibrations into the ground, calling spirits to dance. Bring your drum, your shaker, or that strange thing in your closet that makes noise. You’ll feel the pulse of the earth beneath your feet.
What Actually Happens?
As twilight falls, hunters and holies disappear into looping forest trails. Holies hide. Hunters chase. Riddles are exchanged. Secrets are uncovered. And somewhere, hidden in the woods, walks the May Queen. When she is found, and the Oak King is revealed, we return to circle and crown the divine.
Then Comes the Great Rite
The Hunt leads us to a ritual like no other — a sacred honoring of the divine feminine and masculine, drawn into our crowned May Queen and Oak King. It is the symbolic union of life bursting forth — the orgasm of Summer. No photos, no phones, just raw energy, deep presence, and community.
